In addition to the usual initiatives, Olympus had also started a number of projects for the company's strategic re-structuring. Increasing resource conflicts in daily business and insufficient progress in the projects moved management to professionalize the company's project management. Together with IGI, Olympus achieved the following in less than three months:

• Development and effective introduction of "multi-project management" systematics and project management standards and tools.
• Acceptance and qualification of project environment.
• Project environment focusing from 150 down to 80.
• Intermittent controlling of project environment.
• Coaching of project managers working on key projects
