Alliance Management
Exploiting unused growth potential
Alliance management is the most under-rated and least used of the three growth strategies (see the IGI study - „Power, Trust and Ego in Alliance Management“). IGI helps companies to exploit existing potential and turn alliance capabilities into competitive advantage.
To do this the company must firstly have a very high level of organizational maturity, i.e. it must, to name but a few parameters, manage according to objectives and strategies, function according to continuous, integrated processes, and, at times, build on networked independent units. Secondly, the company must also dispose of alliance-specific tools and mechanisms. These include, for example, professionalism in alliance design, alliance processes, portfolio management, and an alliance-supporting corporate culture.
