Economic growth – crisis so what?

On December 3rd, 2008 Dr. Hubert Weber gave a lecture on economic growth impulse in economic downturns at the manager-lounge in Frankfurt. His core statement was: “the reaction pattern of companies in stagnating and/or declining business cycles is always the same: to save, to reduce costs and to lay off personnel causing to miss excellent growth opportunities and to lack resources and ideas when economy is again picking up. That does not have to be the case if the logic of the game is understood and if the necessary capabilities for it are established.”
